Officials in Mozambique stated recently that the cholera epidemic that had plagued the country for months is over. Over 2,000 people were diagnosed with the disease, and hundreds died. While there have been no new reported infections for weeks, Mozambique is still struggling, as a country, with the epidemic’s impacts. For Mozambique, a nation already struggling economically, the epidemic was quite harmful, and proved a setback in their attempts to attract foreign economic investment. Now, the country is dismantling its cholera treatment centers and continuing forward.
