Need help achieving a better night’s sleep and finding energy in the morning? Try exposing yourself to sunlight or bright indoor light in the morning and throughout the day. A study that followed over 100 American office employees found that participants enjoyed a better night of rest and decreased depression when they exposed themselves to light throughout their day. It is believed that the light exposure helps balance the body’s internal “circadian” clock which regulates our sleep and wake modes. The benefits were noticeable during the winter months as well.
